Thanks to its dense undercoat, yak down retains warmth exceptionally well even in very cold weather. It is considered one of the warmest natural fibers, helping maintain comfort without excessive layering.
Yak down is approximately 20% warmer than cashmere and around 40% warmer than sheep’s wool.
At Cashmerebox, we work exclusively with 100% yak down, without synthetic or blended fibers. This is a conscious choice that allows us to preserve the material’s natural properties — its warmth, lightness, and breathability.
For our pieces, we select only the finest fibers measuring 16–18 microns. This represents less than 20% of the collected raw material and allows us to create pieces that feel soft, elastic, and silky to the touch.

Creating a thing from a mixture of yak wool and cashmere, we do our best to preserve the unique natural qualities of the fiber and to transmit maximum softness, lightness and warmth to the product. For care, we recommend hand washing at water temperatures up to 30 ° C, without the use of bleaches. Gently squeezing the water, dry the product on a horizontal surface, iron with steam at low temperatures. Gentle dry cleaning is also acceptable.
