ORIGIN OF RAW MATERIALS
Our cashmere is born in the vast landscapes of Dornod Province — the easternmost and least urbanized region of Mongolia. These are predominantly endless steppes, pastures, and wild natural landscapes — one of the last untouched ecosystems in the world. Due to the absence of large enterprises and factories, the pasture ecology of this region remains pure, the air and water are unpolluted, and goat grazing does not deplete the land thanks to controlled nomadic herding methods.Our cashmere is born in the vast landscapes of Dornod Province — the easternmost and least urbanized region of Mongolia. We collaborate with more than 900 herding families, signing annual contracts for the purchase of the finest raw materials. This ensures stable income for their households and guarantees adherence to ethical animal welfare standards. Once a year, usually in May, during the goats’ natural molting season, their delicate undercoat is collected through gentle hand-combing without causing any harm to the animals.
CARE FOR NATURE
Together with the United Nations Development Programme and the Asian Development Bank, we support initiatives aimed at preserving pasture health and animal welfare, contributing to ecosystem stability and sustainable regional development.
Our cashmere is internationally certified as Sustainable Cashmere, confirming its responsible origin: an environmentally clean product sourced from healthy animals raised on pristine pastures.
ETHICAL PRODUCTION
CASHMEREBOX uses Japanese yarn production technologies — reducing water and chemical consumption while preserving the natural qualities of cashmere. At every stage of production, only processes that comply with modern international safety standards are used.
In addition to the international Sustainable Cashmere quality certification (UN Certified), our raw materials are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This guarantees that every thread used in our garments is free from harmful chemicals and toxic dyes. Fabrics bearing this certification are safe for the skin — even for newborns — and pose no risk to human health or the environment. More than 80% of our products are exported to Japan, confirming their impeccable reputation and quality.

We support women’s health initiatives within herding families, assist in organizing preventive healthcare programs, and provide technical education opportunities for local communities. Our team is also involved in projects such as Plastic-Free Nomads — promoting a plastic-free lifestyle and establishing educational centers for nomadic communities to support education and the transfer of environmentally responsible knowledge within local regions.
